Winter Wedding Trends 2018 | Wedding Planning Tips

If your idea of true romance involves a fresh blanket of snow and a roaring fire in the fireplace, you should seriously consider hosting a winter wedding.

And there is no better place for a winter wedding than Upstate NY.  The Adirondack Mountains are picturesque and have some unique wedding venues.  To get you started on planning your dream wedding, here are some winter wedding trend ideas.

Winter Wedding Wedding Trends 2018
Just Married! One of my favorite winter weddings in Lake Placid!

Color is Key:  One of the first choices you will make is the color palette for your wedding.  Color is especially important for photography.  Winter weddings are great because you can either go pale or use rich, seasonal colors.  Our friends at The Black Tux have put together these inspiration boards for some on trend color palettes featuring a few of their stylish tuxedo rentals.

Black and Olive Green–great way to compliment the colors of the season.

Navy and Marsala–the wine color is a fantastic way to add a pop of color in your photos.

Faux Fur:  Who doesn’t love the look of fur?  The trend for faux fur continues–possibly because it is so very practical as well as pretty.  You can wear a fur with your gown, give gifts of faux stoles or mittens to your bridesmaids, or drape chairs with faux fur blankets as favors for your guests.

Hot Chocolate Bars:  What better way to welcome your guests to your wedding reception than with a Hot Chocolate Bar?

Natural Elements:  Bring the outdoors inside with evergreens, pine cones and birch branches.

Metallic:  Whether it is silver, gold, or rose gold, metallic is still here.

Sleigh Rides:  What better way to enjoy the Winter than with a sleigh ride!  The Adirondacks have so many beautiful trails!

These are just some of the ideas you can incorporate into your winter wedding.  Embrace the season and all it’s beauty, and you are bound to have an unforgettable event.
