Last month I got to photograph a fabulous Summer Wedding at The Mansion in Saratoga, NY. Meghan and Sean had the most perfect day for a wedding–great weather, fabulous family and friends, and lots of love and laughs! There were so many great highlights, but I really think I loved the recessional to the Beatles’ All You Need is Love the best!
Here is a link to a slide show from the day:
I asked Meghan to share the story of how she and Sean met, fell in love, planned a wedding and what is next for them. Here is their story:
“Sean and I met through match.com and had our first date on July 13, 2015. We met for a drink. It ended up being trivia night at the bar. The drink date turned into a dinner date and we also decided to play trivia. We learned we made a great team that night. We also learned we just loved talking with each other, laughing together and that we shared a spiritual bond and had very similar goals. We really just clicked. It was the most fun date I’d ever been on.
“On July 13, 2017, or two year dating Anniversary, Sean brought me to the Envoy Hotel in Boston for dinner. After dinner we went up to the Envoy’s rooftop bar for an after dinner drink. As the sun was going down over the city of Boston and the harbor, Sean got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I was overjoyed and of course said yes.
“I have a huge family from Upstate NY and Sean has family in Cleveland. We also have a multitude of great friends we’ve made over the years as well. Which led us to originally plan a huge, almost 200 person wedding. Sean and I faced some hurdles during the planning and realized the 200 person wedding wasn’t what we really wanted. After some reflection and researching of various options, we decided we wanted to do something more intimate, different and outside so we could enjoy the beautiful Summer. We also knew our family had to be part of our day.
“Ultimately Sean and I found the Mansion of Saratoga. We planned our wedding in six short weeks after choosing the “Dare to Be Different” package. Sean and I truly had a wonderful experience planning the wedding with the help of Annie from the Mansion. Also, each vendor was so easily accessible and available for questions. Joy Burke got to know us as a couple and created such a gorgeous, fun, emotional, and personalized ceremony for us. Karen and Paul from Saratoga Sound provided exceptional entertainment. The Posie Peddler understood our vision of flowers and made amazing arrangements. The food by Chef Rick was outstanding and of course Susan Blackburn captured all these special moments through her photography. Sean and I were married on June 26, 2018 at 4PM in front of 80 of our closest family and friends. Our Tuesday wedding gave our family and friends something exciting to do on a weekday in the summer. We have been told by so many that our wedding was the best they’d ever been to.
“Following our wedding, Sean and I honeymooned for nine days. We had a three part honeymoon. We went to Florence first, the to a wellness spa in the Tuscan Hillsides, and finally to Rome. It was pure magic. Sean and I are in our early forties. All I can say is no one should ever settle, prayers are answered, and dreams do come true. We are best friends and both agree that we met at the perfect time. We love our love story and look forward to a lifelong journey as husband and wife.”
Congratulations and Best Wishes to Meghan and Sean!
