How To Get Romantic Wedding Photos You Will Love

Romantic Wedding Photos Do Not Just Magically Happen!

Everyone wants at least some Romantic Wedding photos–am I right?  But how do you orchestrate that on the Wedding Day?  Read on for some of our favorite tips and tricks.

We Highly Recommend An Engagement Session!

Have an Engagement Session–you won’t regret it.  This session in Prospect Park was super fun!

It can be stressful knowing you are being photographed.  Engagement Sessions are a great way to practice being in front of the camera.  You will get to know each other better.  And best of all, you might get more comfortable showing affection in front of your Wedding Photographer!

Collaborate On A Wedding Day Timeline To Get Romantic Wedding Photos!

A Workable Timeline on the Wedding Day is critical for a stressfree day.

Wedding days can be stressful and often feel rushed without a proper Wedding Day Timeline in place.  This can definitely impact how you are interacting with each other as a couple and make you feel less than Romantic.  One of the things we work on here with all of our clients is a Timeline that accomodates not just time for the photos, but adds a “buffer” to ensure we have a stressfree day.

Make Sure You Schedule Some “Alone” Time

Having time to be alone together on the Big Day is important!

Speaking of Timelines–make sure you have the proper time allotted for your portraits together alone.  As in few if any spectators.  It can be hard to be affectionate in front of a large crowd of on lookers, so we recommend family and friends be at another location for this portion of the day.  We do, however, recommend a friend stay to help you with your flowers and train if you do not have a dedicated Planner on your Wedding Day.

Great Light = Great Images

This Romantic Wedding Photo was created on a rainy fall day with off camera strobe. It was literally pitch dark outside, but we made it work!

There are no two ways around it–Great Wedding Photos depend on Great Light.  While I definitely prefer to work during Golden Hour, sometimes that is just not possible due to lots of uncontrollable situations.  Inclement weather can especially take a toll on a Wedding Day.  Luckily, we can use off camera strobe for photos if Golden Hour outdoors is not an option.

In the end, your Wedding Photos should be a reflection of your individual story and who you are as a couple.  Getting Romantic Wedding Photos will be easier if you hire a Wedding Photographer whose work you love and who you trust implicitly!
