Last weekend while participating in the Hudson Wedding Showcase, I had the pleasure of photographing Hanorah and Arvind, a recently engaged couple. When I knew I wanted to include some of their photos on this blog, I asked Hanorah to tell me a little about how Arvind proposed. As she is a writer, she came up with something way better than I ever could have, so here is their story in Hanorah’s own words:
“Arvind and I met through a mutual friend, who set us up on a blind date after making lofty claims like, “I’m a great matchmaker! Trust me – he’s perfect for you.” Skeptical but hoping to gain, at the very least, a new friend, I met Arvind in Chelsea, NYC, for bowling on a rainy night in February 2008. The first sign that our friend was right was how easy it was to talk to him – we skipped the small talk and dove right into the topics usually avoided on first dates! After a meaningful two years together, circumstance separated us, but the depth of our feelings for each other led to a very happy reunion. Exactly five years after our very first date, Arvind proposed in Bayonne, NJ, at a location with an unparalleled NYC view that we had frequented when we were younger. He was a little nervous, but I wasn’t – I didn’t even have to think about my answer, which was, “Of course! Yes!”
They are just too cute–here is wishing them many happy adventures together over the years!
