Personal Projects

As a photographer, sometimes I need to make time for personal projects.  While I love what I do as a wedding and portrait photographer, I sometimes need to do something that is totally unrelated to those things.  I need to reconnect to why I chose photography (or why it chose me) and have the freedom to experiment and not worry about client expectations.

Every summer for the past seven years, I have been lucky to photograph Saratoga Summer Dance Intensive, a dance program taught by some of the best dancers in the world.  In addition to being able to just photograph the way I want to, I have learned a little bit about dance and a lot about commitment to one’s art.  Every year at the end of the program, I am thankful to have spent some time around people who are passionate about what they do and who want to share what they know with other people.
